The beginings

In late 2007 an idea was born to hold live music events on the Eastoke Corner green, it became apparent that this was not going to be possible but after discussion with Havant Borough Council it was moved to the newly created Plaza area where a natural amphitheatre had been created. After many meetings and much discussion “Playing on the Plaza” was born. Six months later and on a Sunday afternoon in early May 2008 the very first Plaza event went ahead, with three local bands featured from Hayling Island........... 4 Fingers Minds Gone Blank Rusty Strings At that time little did the Plaza team know that this one event would spawn into regular monthly free entertainment on the Plaza over the coming years with Havant Borough Council putting in place an official covered area with power and licensing the area for entertainment through out the year. This now means anyone can hold their own event on the Plaza by making just a few enquiries. If you would like to hold an event on the Plaza you can either contact us or Havant Council.
